Arrr... I'm a pirate!

So, last week we went to the opthamologist last week with Mat. One of his eyes is misaligned, not all the time, but sometimes. We've found out that this has gotten worse over the past six months and now he has to wear an eye patch! It's only for four hours, but still he hates it! We go back in February to see if it's gotten any better, if not, there is the mention of surgery. So we'll take it a day at a time and see what happens. So anyway, here is a picture of Mat's stylin patches, I'll get a picture of him wearing it up sometime as well!

Cough, cough, ugh

So yea, I managed to avoid the family illness for over a month and a half. It all started Thursday with an itchy throat, then a froggy voice Monday, then an even froggier voice Sat. Then just total ugh on Sunday. Well I feel better, but now I have a cough! And it's not the cough that actually does something. Nope, this is a cough that is just annoying. Ah well.

In other news, Mat is asking to go to Kindergarden...He's only three! I wish he'd be this little forever (well most days I do, other days I just think to myself...and I want another one why?...today was one of those days, lol)

Today was interesting...Mat woke up ready to play at 4:30, why I have no idea. I was not feeling well, so Scott took over. I kept waking up throughout the hour Scott was trying to ease Mat back to sleep. I finally caved and helped Scott out, and said "Mat, Mommy doesn't feel well, go to sleep..." And he did, but only for about 2 hours. Scott and I got woken up around 7ish by his Dad, who called Scott to have him help track a buck he shot with his bow. This ended up being a task that would take an hour, to one that took the entire day. With, um, no luck. Well, the brother in law, did find a dead deer, be it one that was dead for a few days though...ew, gross. So after Scott left to track the deer, I was left with the beast...5 minutes of rest past, when all of a sudden 'I AM HUNGRY MOMMY!' Ugh, I tried telling him Mommy didn't feel good, and she wanted to sleep, but he was not having that. 'I WANT PANCAKES!' So I finally got out of bed, we managed to compromise on muffins. The muffins pleased the beast, but only for a bit. I was drained of energy due to being sick, and I just wanted to lay down and watch tv...but 'I WANT TO PLAY TOM AND JERRY! TOM, YOU NEED TO CHASE ME!' rang through my ears. I finally got him playing one of his interactive tech games. Then I went out to the in laws for lunch.

So yea, I'm going to bed early...hopefully I am good enough to get to work tomorrow. I have one sick day left, I'm saving it. Well, trying to. Wish me luck!

I have a robot as a son...

So Mat went trick or treating on Thursday (yea our township is weird) and he loved every minute of it. He was Wall-E this year. He picked out exactly who he wanted to be. We went with his friend Alex. Alex was a train engineer. So we started out at Alex's house...His costume was cool, because the front of it opened and he could put candy in it.

So the night started...Mat ran from house to house, saying trick or treat...a few times we had to threaten to take all of his candy because he kept forgetting to say thank you!

So then we went back...dragging Mat with us (well we ended up carrying him in the end!)

Did the Grants get sucked into a black hole?!

Hi diddly ho internet folks.

So I haven't posted in almost 2 months...This is due to a plethora of reasons. (Plethora is totally not used enough in everyday speaking, and I think everyone should use it at least once a day!) So let's review these reasons shall we!?

1. School...Yes, that dreaded thing. Though some people don't view it like that. I view it as, I have gone to school for 19 years of my life now, with another year and a half left! And for what! A piece of paper. Oh and more money, that helps too! But anyway, I have a group project, and my group rocks and is completely awesome, but it is a more demanding course this quarter. Well the past two have been demanding...whee.

2. My calling at church...I had no idea how much I would love my new calling, but I really do! It's extremely demanding in comparison to other callings I have had, but I would not trade it! My
girls are awesome! We're having game night tomorrow if anyone would like to come on out for some board games! And we're planning the New Years Eve dance for the branch! It's fun times that's for sure!

3. WAAAAAGH - WAR, Warhammer, coolest game eva! Whatever you want to call it... While it does not have that crack like feeling WoW did. I enjoy this more than WoW...because I PvP and GET EXPERIENCE FOR IT. Yes my friends, PvP, RvR, whatever you'd like to call it. I kill other players and get experience, and it is AWESOME. So yes, Warhammer is yet another reason why I have not been a blogging fiend like I used to be. I play a sorceress, yea, the sleezy elf over to the elf...that is me, in all of my pwnage glory. Oh she might be extremely squishy, and die fast, but SHE WILL TAKE OUT AT LEAST THREE OF YOU ORDER WEASELS BEFORE SHE DIES! Long live Icenda World, may she forever pwn your face.

And I left the last for best....My family...Scott and I try to spend alot of time playing with Mat. He currently loves to pretend. He pretends he's anything from various animals, to Jerry from Tom and Jerry, to now Aang. Yes, Aang. Avatar: The Last Airbender for you people without children who watch Nickelodeon. I have to admit...Scott and I are uhh addicted to it too:/ So Mat pretends he is Aang, the Avatar, I get to be Katara, the waterbender, and Scott...well he gets to be Appa, the flying six legged bison.

Waaagh!!! WAR is live!

Alright, so since last Tuesday I have been engrossed in Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. Well not really engrossed, but entranced. The game is awesome. Better than WoW. Why? Because of RvR. It is amazing. Healers actually get rewarded for healing! Yes, it's great. I can heal, do damage, and keel people. Though, they kill me to. The RvR scenarios are great, and we're not even in real RvR yet. So if people are wondering where I've been, that's where. Well that and church...

In church I've been called as Young Women's president. So my weeks and weekends are filled with organizing and planning activities for the young women of the branch. The girls are great. They listen to the lessons I teach, and really apply themselves. We had an awesome YW president before me, but she is moving away:( Hopefully, I can do just as well!

Anyway, my archmage calls...If any of you get Warhammer, look me up on the Vortex server...order side! Oh yea, Scott is there too! :)

Hurricane Ike in CINCINNATI!

So I haven't posted in awhile. School is done for a bit. So things on that front have calmed a wee bit.

We bought a new refrigerator, new dishwasher, and a gas stove. So we bought basically a new kitchen. The refrigerator is HUGE. It's awesome and I love it. We took the island out and bought a moving island. We, at some point, need to lay our ceramic tile down, but until then we have a uh 'soft spot' in the floor where the previous owners put in the dishwasher. I have taken care of this by putting a rug over it! HAHA!

Okay, now about my title of the post. We had hurricane force winds in the tri-state today. 76 mph gusts. IT WAS AWESOME. I enjoyed it because I never felt wind blow that hard before. But most people hated it because it kind of blew alot of stuff up because Cincinnati is not meant to take winds like that! My house survived, and my roof is still attached. Unlike some other Ohioans. So go here for lots of destruction pictures of Cincinnati!

And here is a glimpse!
So yea, see the big green patch in the middle of the road. That would be a tree. COVERING THE ROAD. Now imagine this down every road you go down, along with big branches, and trash cans, and all kinds of things. CHAOS EVERYWHERE.

Back to work, back to work

Alrighty, so today was the first day back to work for Scott and I after an awesome 6 days off. It wasn't a terrible day back, it wasn't an awesome day back, it was a day.

Mat was being his typical cute self today, like always. Though he now goes 'WHY NOT?' for everything...thanks Daddy. Mat would say 'Why' over and over again, then Scott would just say 'Why not' so now Mat does it...constantly. It's so awesome. Mat is more in the question stage than ever, everything is why, how, what, who, etc. He tends to retain what you tell him though, which is pretty cool.

Mat is using his imagination all the time now. He pretends he's super Mat, or Sir Mat, or Doctor Mat, among a plethora of other things. Tonight he was pretending he had a tea party with 2 cow stuffed animals, myself and Scott. The cat, Fluffy, joined us for a bit, then left, and came back. When he came back, Mat was like, 'Oh Fluffy, have you come to join us again?' Haha! I was about to crack up, he was so polite about it, and serious, it was awesome. We are about to try him on 'big boy books' that have no pictures, since his imagination has blossomed so much. He seemed pretty excited about it. We'll start him out on James and the Giant Peach.

Other than that, we miss the Mays family, they are back in Arizona now. We enjoyed our limited time with them. Though we are holding the razor they left behind as a hostage...RETURN TO OHIO OR THE RAZOR GETS WATERBOARDED AGAIN! Mat has been asking for each member of the Mays' family since they left. He doesn't quite understand the whole distance thing yet...We'll get there!

In other news, WARHAMMER OPEN BETA IS SUNDAY. In preparation for this, I must complete my final project for my business foundations class, and the remainder of my discussions. So I have 7 discussions to complete, and the final paper and powerpoint presentation. THIS IS DOABLE, as I will be doing nothing on Sat. but this, well after I return from baking myself at the Beach for my company picnic. Speaking of the company picnic, Logan and Audra will be joining us for a fun filled day of excitement and fun at the waterpark. Good times, good times. I imagine Scott and I will trade back and forth with the kids so we can ride a few rides!

Also, Fluffers (new nick name for Fluffy, thanks Josh:P ) has caught 2 mice this past week. Only 1 died, the other one escaped...Kim and I witness this first hand...we were terrified that the mouse would attack us, so we kind of ran in circles around the living room as we were watching Stardust and the boys all slept.

I've added some additional pictures, and a video of Uncle Josh chasing Mat around the tennis court! So check them out!

I've kind of ran out of things to chatter about...so FAREWELL.

And it came to pass...

Rock Band lies defeated, cowering before Chicken Neck Gypsies (our awesome band name), begging for mercy. We, the rock gods, were not merciful.

And then the credits began to roll, but still, it was great. Jen and I have had the game for months now, but after only 4 short days with Josh and Kim here, we've all owned it, pimped out our band members AND learned that
a) Kimberly can totally spaz out on the drums
b) Josh doesn't sing and has a hard time telling the difference between "inducted" and "indicted"
c) Jonah steals Jen's attention and causes her to miss key notes and of course
d) Scott is amazing.

But in all seriousness, I had an amazing time. I feel recharged and rested and ready to go back to work. Living far apart from great friends really sucks, but it does make you enjoy the time you get to spend together, and I've had a blast.

I don't have any cool pictures uploaded yet from this visit, but I wanted to show Kim a picture that I forgot from our trip to Arizona in January of this year!

SURPRISE.

The best four days in gaming...

Next Friday Scott and I will be gaming...mmm....GenCon! We haven't been to GenCon since before we had Mat. It'll be awesome. I love the vendor area. There are so many cool games and gamer trinkets. It's awesome! If you would like to learn more about where we are going, go here: GENCON

So I mean that is pretty much all I have to say today. Other than I hope I get to play Shadowrun!

Operation Finish Dining Room - Tuesday 22:00

The grout it held me captive...the sealing...oh the humanity, it was terrible. I did not think I would make it out alive!

Okay seriously, we're done. DONE. We have a dining room and it is awesome. We have some minor little things like putting quarter round on, and fixing thresholds...but the rest is DONE. It feels so nice. So Sat. we grouted a quarter of the floor, cleaned it up, etc. That took awhile. A long while. On Sat. night, I woke up telling Scott my arm was broken. I could have promised my soul, I thought my arm was broken, it hurt so bad. Ends up...I just used muscles I never had, and it was just burn from working them. I tell you what, I never have had anything hurt so bad. It sucked. Then Sunday we went to church, came back home, and while my mother watched Mat, Scott and I took to grouting...and grouting, and grouting more. Cleaned up the grout, which took longer than laying the grout. Then we chilled. Well actually we started working on the living room. So then Monday, Scott had minor food poisoning, and Mat was a wee bit whiny. I left the house to work, then came back as I kept forgetting things. Scott wasn't getting any better, so I stayed home to assist and because I felt like I needed to stay home. So while he was not feeling well, Mat ended up being fine and Mom took him to swim class. Scott ended up getting better and went to work. And I stayed home and caught up on Lost and sealed the grout. Sealing that stupid grout took ALL day. ALL day. Well not all day, because I mowed the lawn. But that was only because Scott finished sealing while I mowed the lawn. And now it is Tuesday. We went to work, picked up Mat, then I cleaned up the house a bit, and Scott went to school. I think that pretty much catches you up.

So on the Mat front...I may have said this, but I'm not sure. MAT IS COMPLETELY POTTY TRAINED AND I NO LONGER AM SPENDING MONEY ON DIAPERS/PULL UPS. Yes, it is awesome. I love it, and am thrilled to be done...for now... He is learning lower case letters now, and pretty much can recognize them all after one afternoon. He is also learning to write and read now too. His imagination is crazier than usual. He now pretends he is Jerry from Tom and Jerry the cartoon, and Scott is Tom. And those two will pretend all evening. It's cute. Oh Mat also things that a battery can fix everything. A skipping CD, a torn article of clothing, anything. Also, Mat has learned that dancing is more than just jumping up and down and flailing your arms. We were in the car listening to music, when all of a sudden he yells, 'MAMA, LOOK! LOOK AT ME! I'M DANCING!' I reply, 'Oh, that's nice.' then he's like 'I'M MOVING MY HIPS!' Just the way he said it cracked me up. He also got a new ball, that is weird, its about the size of a kickball, and is really rubbery and has these green tentacle things all over it. Well he calls it his hairy ball. Though one day, he said hairy balls. Needless to say, Scott was proud.

So August is a busy month. This weekend we take Mat to Eastgate on Sat. and meet up with my sister as she is taking him for the night. Then we will probably hit up the Longacre pig roast. Mat will then spend time with them Sunday, and my mom will take Mat Sunday night and Monday night. This is all due to our anniversary. That's right folks, Scott and I will have been married for seven years and together for fourteen years. Next weekend though is GenCon Indy. YAY. Then the weekend after...I'm drawing a blank. Then Josh, Kim and Jonah will come see us!! HUZZAH! We're gonna go to the Melting Pot, see the Amish, to Baba India, probably Serpent Mound, maybe the RenFest! We'll play all kinds of games, and just have a blast in general! Then I'll cry when they have to go home, but I'll convert them to the ways of Ohio, and they'll fall in love with it here, and MOVE HERE. Yep, that's how it's going to go down. It's a genius plan.

Anyway, it's bedtime. Nighty night.

Operation Finish Dining Room - Friday Night 23:25

I heard the enemy everywhere...the screams of 'Dada make me an animal' or 'Come play with me now?' were coming from every direction. With teamwork we managed to get through the evening...another forth of the room has been grouted. Yes, I declare a small victory this night...We have not yet won the war though...We must hold fast and stay true to our cause. I hear the darkness, it beckons me to shut my eyes and rest. I must give into it, as it is already late. The enemy, he wears regular underwear this night, no diaper or pulls ups. So he may attack at any time with screams that he has wet the bed. OH THE HUMANITY. To whoever may find this...wish me luck. I will try to update you tomorrow. Over and out good buddy.

Operation Finish Dining Room

So this is the weekend folks. The dining room will be completed. Well, the floor will be done, and the furniture moved all around and back in. I should post a picture in triumph once it's completed. It's been a long couple months while it has been in updating mode. Was it worth it? Don't know yet. We'll find out when it's done. So stay tuned.

Anyway, moving along. I was busy yesterday with homework...that seems to be a focus in my life right now. This is thanks to my professor who I believe is slightly not all there. Oh well. C'est la vie!

So I had a freaky experience this morning. I was sleeping, minding my own business. Then I open my eyes...I have no idea why. But I open my eyes, and there is a face staring at me. I about peed my pants. Once the face said 'mama, you awake?' I finally realized it was Mat, but it took me a minute. (This was at 4 in the morning) Normally he's noisy coming into the room, no, not this time. He was like a ninja. A ninja that will KILL MY SLEEP. He for some reason thought that it was time for us to wake up. He finally fell back to sleep around 5. Ugh!

So Scott has a new job opportunity at Xavier. I think he's most excited about the number of days he gets off. I most excited about the paid tuition. We're both depressed at the hours he works initially. We'll get through it though. This is so long his current employer doesn't come around with some crazy counter that we weren't expecting. I really think that it will be hard to beat.

Anyway, that's all I got for now.

There is no charge for awesomeness

So I forgot to mention that over the long time we did find time to watch Kung Fu Panda. It was alot better than I thought it would be. I loved the very beginning and the one line that the Panda says...There is no charge for awesomeness...or attractiveness. The whole movie was just really good. Tonight we watched Wall-E with Mat. Actually, Nana, and Papa are watching it as well (Scott's mom and dad.) It's such a great movie.

Anyway, meh day at work. Felt like I didn't do my test strategy right for this one project. Or that I could have done it better. The client ended up having production issues with it on Monday. Win some and lose some I suppose. Other than that, Mat continues to bargain with us. Not yet mommy, 5 more minutes.

Anyway, while they are watching the movie, I am to do more homework...yippy skippy.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Ugh, I hate when I don't have time to post!

Alright, so it has been since Thursday since I wrote in my blog of doom. I say my because Scott never posts even though he can, he just doesn't. So until he posts it shall be mine.

So let us see, on Friday...what happened Friday...um, we picked up Mat, and he was continuing to be all congested. We got home and he was kinda miserable still so we spent time with him while picking up a bit. I finished mowing the lawn. We did other stuff but I can't remember what!

Then on Saturday...tile, lots and lots of tile. We completed laying it...YAY! We did that until really late. We have to grout still...that will be Thursday probably. Then the room will be done. I hear the songs of triumph playing.

Then on Sunday...Church...then homework. UGH. I did homework for 6 hours. It was painful. 4 discussion posts, and one 6 page essay not including title page, reference, or required appendixes. Yep...It was horrible. While I was doing this my mother was watching Mat, and Scott was scraping the wood on the front porch. Our house is sided, but we have this one section on the front porch that's not sided...it's bizarre. Then again our entire house is.

So that pretty much catches you up to Monday. Monday was work, then we ate dinner at my moms. Then Scott and I saw the Dark Knight. It was good...but I personally don't think it lived up to the hype. There were a few holes with the plot, and that drives me nuts. Though I have to admit, Heath Ledger did a stellar job with the Joker. That was the best Joker character I have ever seen.

And then finally today. Work, then home. I picked tomatoes while Scott got prep'ed for his class. He's at class now. I have the wonderful task of picking up the house. HUZZAH. I figured I would post before I did that!

So let me think, has Mat done anything new. Well he is learning to write. Yaya and Nana are helping him out with that. He can spell a few words now. He is funny, because now if you sing along to his 'songs' he will yell 'STOP...be quiet please.' Which is adorable, but he did it in church. Thankfully not during sacrament session, but during primary. The teachers thought it was funny, I was mortified, lol. Oh yes, the child is doing excellent with potty training. He slept through the entire night with no diaper last night and had no accidents. I'm really excited about that...the thought of no more diapers and no more pulls ups (for now) makes me so happy. I'm going to try to get some more video and pictures of him because he's just uber cute right now.

So that's about it...TTFN!

Fences, colds, and attack cats

So Scott got the back fence all put up today. We just have the side fencing to go. Then it's all back up. We've got to stain it white, and seal it, but that will come...one day. Probably before winter. The brush pile is all burned up, which is nice. Part of the yard was mowed. The rest will be cut tomorrow. I imagine our task list for this weekend is to finish the dining room, along with laundry...and a six page paper. Oh and preparing the lesson for relief society on Sunday, can't forget that.

Well, it appears that Mat is getting a cold, or allergies. He was really congested and slept alot today according to Nana (Scott's mom). He's running around fine now, but I gave him Claritan (which I thought he was going to spew back at me). Tonight before bed I will probably give him a dose of Mucinex. That stuff seriously works wonders. So hopefully he'll be well enough for Scott and I to go to work. I don't mind taking off work at all, but if he's just a bit snuffled up I would rather save the sick days for when he's really sick.

Alright, we have a cat that is a great mouser. He's about 3 months old, and is huge. He'll be a big cat. He's not fixed yet, and still has all his claws. He pounces, but worst of all, he attacks! He'll hide under things, in things, then right when you least expect it...RAWR, he will attack your ankles! Oh it's annoying. Majorly annoying.

Thats it for awhile...ttfn

More food storage, chaotic work days, an everything else

Alright, so yet another day of drypack. This is the last day in a long time I think. It seems like we have enough food stashed away now to eat for an eternity. Though it's probably just up to like 10 months or so now, we'll get up to a year and keep it at about that. It's just really comforting to have.

Work was psycho. We had an issue with one of our little applications that was suppost to be easy. Another project has the partners coming in tomorrow, so all kinds of chaos getting ready for that. And I need to get deliverables completed that I couldn't get done today because I was taking care of the other things. Oh fun times, fun times.

Housework update...well due to the other issues, and food storage fun we've not been able to tackle the house. Actually the house is pretty much a disaster area. Oh well, what are weekends for but to catch up on everything you didn't get done during the week. I'm a bit irritated at the guy we hired to retexture our ceilings. He does an excellent job, don't get me wrong, but 'unforeseen' issues make him want more money now. Seriously, if you bid a job, stick to the price, changing it mid way is totally not cool. I understand additional material, but come on, you bid the job and saw the surroundings. Do some QA, but don't put the tab on me when you didn't do your job right. Anyway, that's my rant. So we're going to pay the dude for the work he did, and finish the job ourselves. So yet, another job we don't really have time for! Yay!

Alright, it is way past my bedtime and I need to wake up early to get to work early to assist with presentation stuffs.

Steak, Health, and Other Misc. Thoughts

Alright, so today, I went to work. Though work, really wasn't work, it was more traveling for half of the day. I went to Columbus with 2 coworkers for a conference on Tealeaf. Tealeaf is an application that can assist IT or business users with various data of their own applications. It's pretty nifty. I got a new pen, and a nice journal. I also got a steak lunch, with lobster bisque, a salad, and chocolate truffles for dessert. So that was a nice break from my everyday work schedule.

Mat went to his well child checkup today. He's in the 50th percentile for his height, and 25th for his weight. So he's skinny, but that's not unlike how his daddy was. From what I was told, they were very happy with his other development as well. They of course told us to watch his eyes. He was diagnosed with Strabismis earlier this year. It was slight so he hasn't had to do any of the therapy for it, but we go back in November for a check up. So far the problem seems to have stayed the same, but maybe has gotten a bit worse. His eyes don't stray all the time, so you find yourself doing alot of double takes with him. Because one eye might start to stray, but then when you look back he looks at you like your an idiot. Anyway, if the docs say it has gotten worse, he'll need to go through patch therapy most likely since he sees 20/20.

In other news, I hate school. I did all of my stupid discussions and did everything the prof said and got a 95%. So I wrote him and asked him why he gave me less than perfect. I guess we'll find out. I have a 6 page paper due Sunday, and another discussion due at the end of the day tomorrow, with two responses also due Sunday. He's just an uber picky professor...which I hate. I will go crazy if this is the class that drops my 4.0 in my Master's program. So far I have like a 98%, but it irritates the bejeebes out of me that I might even have the slightest potential of getting less than an A. We shall see professor of doom, and destructor of perfect grade point averages...we shall see if you prevail in your task of slaughtering the grade point...

So no new progress on the house, with the accident yesterday, and Scott not here today, and me fighting to spend time with Mat while trying to get homework done...yea, it isn't working. I find myself doing something like blogging to do something in between spending time with Mat. If I were writing a paper, it would be as broken up in logic as this blog.

With that note I leave you, be sure to check out the videos I actually updated youtube with new ones... matrimsmom is the channel name, check it out.

New Video Lineup

So this round of videos will probably stay up awhile. They are videos of Mat. I'll be adding more soon. The batteries on our camera died during the upload otherwise we'd have a really recent one of him in a rainstorm. So stay tuned for more Mat footage!

Prophetic Child...Take two

Alright. So I posted a few days ago about how Mat out of the blue said I was going to be in a car accident. So today 7/21 I was in a car accident. How freaky is that? We were pulling into our driveway and a dude on a motorcycle slammed into the side of our Taurus. It was cosmetic damage for our car, and the guy walked away from it with just some road rash. I don't know what shook me up more, the fact I was in an accident, or the fact my three year old told me a few days earlier that I was going to be in an accident.

Can Mat see into the future? I don't know. Was this just a coincidence? A really freaky well timed coincidence. Whether it is or it isn't, I'll be listening to every word that child has to say.

Broken Toes, Ponies and Food Storage

Okay, so I know I am not really the most graceful of people, but seriously, something needs to happen here. I broke another toe. I say another because most people do not break a toe a year. I have broken a toe 3 years in a row now. I broke my first toe when I was being chased by a sister with a can of cheese...She ran me into that chair, I kid you not! Anyway, this year's broken toe is due to a box...that I ran into. It hurts, and it's purple and black and gross. I should take a picture of it, and I would except the camera died today...so maybe tomorrow. It might turn some shades of green by then, oh man it'll be lovely. I couldn't wear my shoes today, it was awesome.

So yea, Scott and I packed a ton of food today. As goofy as that sounds, it is so nice to have. We have enough flour, sugar, rice, and other things packaged away to last us awhile. With the prices of everything going up, it's nice to have something packed away in case prices get too high, or one of us would lose a job. It is just a feeling of security. We're making another bulk order and will do the same thing in a few more weeks. I have to hit up Sams again too and pack up on somethings we've eaten non stop...like macaroni. After our adventures in putting bulk foods into a form that will keep for years we went home.

In other news, Eclipse (Mat's pony) had her baby!! It's a girl! Mat is thrilled because now there are two ponies, he now wants a third though. Scott's dad is taking this pony and wants to teach it to haul a pony cart. Mat on the other hand just wants to ride them. He is all excited because he gets to start riding Eclipse again in a few days. Papa (Scott's dad) is teaching Mat to ride ponies, and will assist Mat in learning how to train ponies/horses. Mat is such an animal oriented child. He loves all animals, and wants every animal imaginable. I think it's great...though I imagine by the time he is 10 he'll have a zoo.

Life would be much better if everyday was Sunday

Think about this, everyday is Sunday! If you would have asked me a year or two ago what my favorite day was, I would probably have said Saturday. Why? This is simple, it was a day off of work, and I had the following day off too! Do not get me wrong, I still think Saturday is great, but more and more Sunday is becoming my favorite day of the week. I will tell you why. I go to sleep the night before with my loving husband, then awake refreshed (most of the time). My awakening is usually from Mat pattering into the room saying, "Mama, Dada, it's time to get up!" So we wake up and head downstairs for breakfast. Most of the time it is a simple breakfast, but every now and then we feel fancy and we bust out the waffle-maker. Then we get ready for church. Now typically it would take me like 10 minutes, but it tends to take like an hour now. This is due to Mat. Usually I have to chase him around getting him to look all spiffy. Just for him to look unspiffy by the time we reach the chapel door. That is neither here nor there though. Onward with why Sunday is now my favorite day. So then we have church for three hours. Yes folks, three hours. I used to not be one who loved church, or even liked going to church. Now, I do, I really enjoy going to church. For sacrament, we sit next to our family, and let the kids play quietly (or shush them the entire time). Then we have a young adults scripture class. Then I teach Young Women's or Relief Society. It really is great, and I love the callings I have been given. I have actually learned alot from them. When you think about it, Sunday has the best way to start the day. A day not rushed, but with family and the Spirit for the better part of the morning. It truly is amazing.

My next addiction...

Alright, you'll notice the videos have changed...to WARHAMMER. Yes, this will be my next addiction. Hopefully by that time the house will be done being worked on so I can focus my time on my family...and leveling up and slaughtering the other faction in an oh so wonderful realm versus realm. Mmmm tasty.

Oh Weekend How I Love Thee...

The weekend is here! Hooray! After one crazy week of work, it is the weekend. A glorious two days of no stress from work. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my job, but it can be stressful at times. There is something about being home as well, nothing beats it. Even though it's the weekend, Scott and I will still be working...on the house...that's right... Tomorrow will he will be fixing our fence. The fence posts need to be concreted in, and that's what he'll be doing along with his dad and two missionaries. Scott's mom will be helping us paint the hallway, while I will be canning beans. That's right, canning beans. Mat will be at his Aunt Sara's house playing with his cousins while all this crazyness is occurring. I will most likely also be finishing the tile in the dining room. Fun times, fun times. That evening we will be watching the free UFC fight at Jess and Jay's house while the children play. Then Sunday it's church, I teach relief society this Sunday. So after church, we will come back home and do more house stuff. Though we may go to Scott's parents house and help them out there...we shall see.

Mat is going through this terrible stage right now. I love my son so much, but he is really annoying me lately! He's going through this rebellious no phase. No mama, I don't want to, YOU PUT ME DOWN...it's awesome. And if you punish him or take something away, it doesn't phase him, it makes him do it more. So yea, it's horrible. It tests every bit of patience I have. Ah well, hopefully it'll end soon! He's also in a Daddy mood. Mommy does not hold a light to Daddy at the moment, unless he doesn't feel good. But he wants daddy to play with him, and daddy to put him to bed. It's cute:)

Anyway, I'm being beckoned to leave the computer so Scott can look something up while Vista installs on his machine...Maybe he'll post something, but I doubt it...

Prophetic Child?...Eerie...

Alright, so Scott and I have what we believe to be an imaginative 3 year old. He's intelligent and can hold a conversation. During one of his conversations with his grandmother (nana) he out of no where said...'Mama is going to be in a crash, the car will go boom, and she will get hurt.' My mother in law said it was the eeriest thing ever, because he was perfectly calm, and she just got this tingle up her spine. Well, we got home, and Mat told the same thing to us. He comes over to me and says, 'Mama, don't worry, you'll go to the doctor and be okay.' He then went on and told me that my booboo will be on my nose and cheek, and that daddy will be in the car, but he won't get hurt. It'll also happen in the silver car. And the freaky thing...it's the same story everytime...So let's hope I have a three year old with a crazy imagination, and not one that can see into the future.

All the crown is up in the bedroom, and the painting is done too...So now I just need to caulk then I will have one room DONE. YAY.

Work was decent today. And I did half of my homework for the week. That is all...FIN.

I hate homework

So yea, the title kinda says it all. I'm going to Capella University for those of you who do not know I'm in school. And this quarter I am not feeling the education. It is alot of fluff and work for a course that I am not really learning anything in. Oh well, what you will do to further yourself in a career.

As for today's house update...the living room ceiling's hole where a light was suppost to go, but the wiring was kinda messed up so you really couldn't put a light in...it got patched...YAY, and the ceiling which looked kinda weird in spots is getting retextured...YAY. Scott has put up alot of paneling, so all we need to do now is buy a satellite output for the wall, and chair rail, and then that room is done. Every day we inch closer and closer to being completed with the house of doom!

Lemme see what else...Mat is in question mode. Everything is why, what, who, where, how...EVERYTHING. Driving, what song is this...what does this do...who is that...oh my goodness, it's enough to drive a person mad!

This evening (while relaxing from homework) I was looking through youtube...and I came across the Animaniacs, so I have placed them in the video spotlight for a bit. The states of the US is awesome, as is the nations of the world...oh how I miss you Animaniacs.

Crown...am I royalty now?

Alright, so we got the crown molding (however you spell it, I never can) up in the bedroom, and the corner pieces in the bathroom. Progress is slow and steady. Tomorrow the crown will be done in the bathroom and the bedroom. The bedroom will also have all the trim completely painted and will therefore be...COMPLETELY DONE. Well, minus any caulking...so I guess it's technically not completely done, though it will feel like it.

So work was a wee bit crazy today...I've been late getting out for the past two days...I need to skip out a bit early tomorrow so it all works out.

As for Mat, he got a haircut today...and he constantly tells everyone he's going to have a baby sister named Tempe...Mind you I'm not even pregnant....So it's a bit awkward.

It's a bit late, so that's all I'm writing tonight! Farewell!

Wall-E

Wall-e is seriously the best movie I have seen in a LONG time! I highly recommend that everyone go see it! Mat completely loves it, and I will be buying it when it comes to DVD! As you can see my videos of the day have been dedicated to Wall-e today!

I dream of...

Today, I dream of a room to dine in. Yes, it is a simple thought. A room with a table and chairs where families can go to eat their dinner and reflect upon the day. It is not that difficult of a wish to fulfill or is it? It seems like forever since I've had a whole dining room, though in all actuality it has only been a month or so. We're so close...all we need is a wet saw and 2 days....Is that so much to ask for?! Soon...soon....

So Scott and I measured off more of the crown, he painted it and will cut it once it dries and nail it up to the wall with his trusty nail gun that he loves so much. I finished touching up some paint in the kitchen...Now I just have to paint the white trim white again...stupid construction dust...Can't get rid of it even with bleach! Note to self...NEVER GET WHITE CABINETS. That is all.

So Mat went to swim class today. He loved it, he had to call me at work and tell me all about how much fun he had. We have also reached another fantastic milestone...he pooped in the potty...yes he pooped in the potty folks. Now only if he would do this everyday. He told people he had to poop in the potty because 'it would make people happy always.' Yea, it's cute.

Work was crazy, had an issue with a project that is going in on 7/25...ended up being miscommunication, yay. Had deliverables that I couldn't work on because I had to work with the issue...yay. I got out of work an hour late doing this...oh well. C'est la vie.

That is all I believe. Nothing too exciting or too painful today...

So where to start....

Well, I have a MySpace blog, but it's kind of crazy because only your 'friends' get to see it, and not everyone is actually on MySpace, so meh. Yes, meh to that.

So, Scott and I have got like 800 house projects going on. We have a contractor who is texturing 3 ceilings and doing some drywall patching. We have the missionaries coming over for a service project to help us straighten our fence on Saturday, we have our mom (Scott's mom) who will be painting the hallway, the other mom (my mom) who will be helping clean the house, Scott who will be finishing the paneling and trim in the living room, and the crown in the upstairs rooms, and then little ole me who will be doing the grouting of the tile in the dining room. WHEW. Crazyness. Yes, pure insanity. After all of that, I will go around the house caulking every imperfection so it looks perfect. Yes, yes I will. Now then, while doing all of this, I will be completing a masters course while working full time, and still finding time to play with Mat. Yep...insanity. Pictures of the insanity will follow shortly.

What else, what else. Well Mat is going through this lovely 'NO' phase. It's great. (Wade through that sarcasm.) He is definitely becoming his own little person. He has his great grandma's stubbornness that's for certain. It's too bad they didn't get to know each other in this life. I would have love to have seen those two. I'm sure grandma would just make his stubbornness even worse if that is at all possible! I am currently seeking any way to discipline a stubborn child...taking away toys doesn't work because he has an insane imagination and everything is a toy, time outs don't work...same reason, guilt trip 'oh I'm so disappointed' doesn't work because then if you do something he doesn't like he does it to you...I think sometimes I have a child that's smarter than me...That scares me. Aw well, I'll find something that works! Well Mat still wants to be an 'animal doctor'. He has said that since you first asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up. Though the animals he wants to take care of vary from day to day. Sometimes it's zoo animals, other times farm animals...when the cicadas where out he wanted to take care of them. We'll find out one day... Oh he's also telling everyone who will listen that he will have a baby brother or sister. Mind you I'm not pregnant yet, though Scott and I are trying...but everyone thinks I already am, because he is telling everyone he's going to have a brother or sister...Anyway, he's cute so what am I to do:)

So today is Sunday, and tomorrow is Monday, which means I have to go to work. Lots of stuff to do at work. I need to get all my documentation together to send to a partner. That's actually about the bulk of my work...but it's alot mind you!

Anyway, I'm about to head off to bed. You all enjoy my blog posting, and have a nice evening. I shall be back to write more later...well tomorrow...TTFN
