Times are changing

So it's been a few months since I posted last. I figured I was about due for a blog post.

So to get everyone caught up.

Tempe will be 7 months old on the 23rd of June. She's getting so big. As if age was not enough, Tempe is the size of a 10 month old in height. She is in 9-12 month clothes, though the pants are a bit big around the waist as she only weighs as much as a 6-7 month old. Her personality is starting to show. She is a very laid back, easy going one. Though, if something is not going her way, she will definitely let you know. Her hair is unable to be tamed. I will be headed to the store today to try and find a resolution to this predicament. Her hair is so long it is getting in her eyes! For those that have not seen her recently, her hair that she was born never fell out...So yea, 7 months of hair growth from hair that was already long for a baby. She sits up so lovely now, but crawling isn't there yet. She inches around, and rolls around, but crawling, nope. She may be one of those babies that just walks.

Matrim...he will be 5 in 10 days. He is ready for kindergarten. He still has a way overactive imagination. He's also at this stage where he -hates- clothes. I was taking out the trash this morning, and when I was headed back into the house, there was this stark naked boy running around on the porch...No, Scott wasn't the one doing that this time:P One time, Scott wanted to show me something in the back yard and I was headed back in the house, and saw this naked boy running to the back with just his muck boots on...So yea, keeping clothes on him has been challenging. He is also becoming a huge Mario fan, which is odd, because we don't even have a Wii for him to play Mario on. He plays it on the DS, but it's hard for him so he ends up having someone else play the level as he watches them and tells them what to do...Though he's awesome at Castle Crashers, and any lego game you throw his way.

Scott is working on his bachelors. Operating Systems and IT Project Management this quarter. He's doing very well with it. Hopefully he'll graduate in the spring of 2011. We're also keeping an eye on Rock Band 3. They just released a video of a Fender Strat that integrates with Rock Band and you actually have to play the tabs...IE a real guitar. So he's all excited about that. It looks cool, but you can pretty much predict that I will be wielding my trusty color coded bass:P

As for me...I'm done, finis with school. I got my final grade, and I'm happy to say I have a 4.0 with my masters. Yay! So now, I'm catching up on gaming, reading, and most importantly playing with Mat, Tempe and Scott.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

So, another month, another ear infection and case of tonsillitis from Mat. This has come to be tradition it seems. Hopefully this too shall pass after tomorrow. We go back to Cincinnati Children's Liberty Campus. The Outpatient surgery division. Yes. Mat is getting ear tubes. We finally got to the specialist and found out some scary news. Mat's hearing is not what it should be. All those times I thought he was ignoring me, yea he couldn't hear me. Man, nothing like a doctor saying, yea your son couldn't hear you calling for him, thus why you end up saying his name louder and louder til finally you are yelling, and he's wondering why. :( I feel bad for all those times now. Poor guy. Anyway, in addition to the hearing, we found out that he has constant pressure as well. That boy has an insane pain tolerance, is all I have to say. So stay tuned for how that turns out.

Tempe is my little Amazon. She's fits solidly into 6-9 month clothes at 4 months. She recently moved into her own room, in her very own crib. How do I put this...it's amazing. She sleeps so much better away from us. We sleep better too because she is a squirmer, so we were constantly up because she'd move all the time. So, she is doing amazing. She's also eating solid foods now. Yes my friends she is that old now. She's eating rice cereal and pears currently. No issues with those, so she'll be moving to sweet potatoes next.

Scott is doing well. He's finally over working with the network team. He got a tattoo. Not a little one mind you, but a full sleeve. It's currently in the process of being colored. It looks really good. He's back to school getting his bachelors. So all is going well there.

I am heading into my last quarter of school ever. Yes ladies and gentlemen I will have my Master's degree in June. So long as I pass this last class:) Work is going well. I still love what I do. I'm working out to the Jillian Michaels weight loss program for the treadmill. Let me tell you, I have a total love/hate relationship with that woman. :) She's making me sore, but she's getting me back into shape after having Tempe. Almost back down to pre preggo weight, 9 more pounds to go! Hopefully it'll be gone next month! Then to attempt to get further down:/ We'll see how that goes!

Anyway, off to go let Jillian kick my rear.

Hopefully this makes up for lack of pictures!

How about a video of each kid!  Though if you're on Facebook you've seen this already!

Oh how I dread thee mysterious illness!!

Sooooo...It is a typical Tuesday morning...all of us were ready for work/school/the babysitter.  We all piled into the Pacifica ready for the day ahead of us.  Now Mat did not eat much for breakfast, but this happens occasionally, so I did not think twice about it.  We drop Tempe off to Sara, then head to work.  Then about halfway to work, it all goes downhill.  Mat says he's going to be sick.  Now note, we have trained the little boy well.  He knows to let us know if he's going to be sick and to get to a bathroom.  So he tells us this, Scott empties out a lunchbag and hands it to him.  Scott and I discuss what to do.  We decide to drop Scott off at work and I'll stay home since he'll be out 1.5 days next week.  We would leave Tempe at Sara's as anyone who has a child knows, dealing with puking children is no good.  So we get about 2 minutes from Scott's work and Mat is in tears saying he has to go to the bathroom.  Scott runs him into a Speedway, and according to Scott, explosive things happened...I was glad I was in the car!  So then we get Scott to work.  Anyway by noon it was all over.  He was eating and acting like nothing ever happened.  So this gets me to my point.  I -hate- mysterious illnesses that do this.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's not anything crazy.  But the illnesses kids get are so unpredictable - it could be 2 hours of not feeling good, to 2 weeks.  It's just crazy.  As a note the only thing that is predictable is that Mat will have an ear infection every month:P

I want to be a demigod!

Yes, I know, I'm a complete nerd. No one has to tell me that, I already know it. Now prefacing the blog with that note. I completely became addicted to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Now mind you, I have not seen the movie. Instead I grabbed the books because the movie looked good. (Books are alot easier to get to if you have kids...if you have kids you totally know what I mean.) Wow, I love them. Yes, it's young adult, and yes it deals with mythology, but the world is seriously very cool. I want to read more of them. I'm also afraid to see the movie now, because I'm afraid it won't do the story justice. Anyway, that's all. And yes, I've finished the whole series. So now you know why I've suddenly gone to saying "oh my gods" and "by Zeus!" :P

So now I have to find yet another series to tide me over until George RR Martin gets off his rear end and finishes his book, or until the next Wheel of Time book comes out...So I wait, wait, wait.

What will this year hold?

So, another year is upon us. Yes, I know, I should have posted this a month and a half ago, but I have a newborn, work, and school so meh!

We know that this year will contain the growing up of Tempe, she will be walking, most likely, by the end of the year. She'll get teeth, crawl, learn to eat, sit up, feed herself, all that fun stuff. I hope that she will continue to be the best little baby ever. She's asleep by 7 for the night, will wake up between 3-5am for a bottle, then back to sleep til 8. Awesome, isn't it? But the way she smiles, she lights up a room. She is so great. I owe everyone some updated pics. Maybe tomorrow?

What else do we know...

Mat, our little boy, will be going to kindergarten this year. 5 years old in June. Wow, how time flies. Also, most likely another surgery. Not for his eyes, but for his ears. The poor guy has had nothing but ear infections since early November. So we will see what the specialist says when we meet. He just wrapped up his first year of wrestling...so cute. Yes, again I owe pictures. He has his award ceremony tomorrow, so tomorrow or Wednesday! Other than that he's learning to read, counts by tens, and is doing fantastic.

What else do we know...

Scott went back to school for his bachelor's degree. Work, school and family, it's hard! So he's learning to balance them all and is doing very well!

What else?

I graduate in June with my Master's degree! YAY. I hope to lose the terrible baby weight, to be looking good for the other thing we know will happen...DISNEYWORLD in December! Mat's first trip to Disney.

So this year will be busy. Am I ready? As ready as ever. Though I have to admit, time flies by so fast and it is making me really sad. I see Mat getting older everyday and I am going to so miss him being four. Tempe is at a beautiful age, so innocent, so beautiful. She lights up a room with her gummy baby smile. She will be crawling in 3 months, eating solids in a month...I can't believe it.

So I am learning to make everyday their own, and to cherish everything that happens within it. Mat and Tempe will grow with each passing day, I need to enjoy and remember each one of those days.
